Expensive cleansers are not necessary

Cleaning Makeup Brushes is the key to keeping them in their best quality. Not to mention it gets rids of germs, that accumulate over time. Think of it like washing the bed pillows. You need to wash your brushes at least once every 2-3 months.

Washing your brushes is easy.

Yes, I know most people will tell you that it is necessary to buy all these expensive products to wash your brushes. Not me. Actually I haven't paid anything for over 2 years to keep my brushes shiny and new.

So, the product recommendations I have for you will not come from a beauty supply store.

I don't know if you guys are aware of this but Dawn dish washing liquid can do just about anything.

I feel like Mr. Clean when I use Dawn. (remember him the bald guy, in the commercials with the big muscles, and white T-shirt that kept a sparkling house, and head :), anyway I was just reminiscing.

I use Dawn for all sorts of things for example.

• I wash laundry with it (2 caps is enough)
• I clean my sparkly, mold free bathroom with it. (get a spray bottle add 1 cap of dawn, and 1/3 cup of bleach) Your bathroom will be spotless.
• I also dab a little on a damp wash cloth and clean my glass tables with it

Yes, Dawn is wonderful. But, most importantly for this page. Dawn can clean your brushes, without leaving any residue. Your brushes will look like new.

Heres How to Clean Your Brushes

1. Get a glass jar just for cleaning makeup brushes, it can be pretty, but make sure it is clear glass. You can use an old mayonaisse jar if you want. Just take the label off nobody has to know it was mayonaisse.
2. Put 4 to 5 drops of Dawn Dishwashing liquid in the jar, along with lukewarm water. Fill the jar 1/3 of the way, you only want to get the bristles wet, not the handles.
3. Do not work into a lather. Let the brush sit in the water. (it is recommended you wash all your brushes at the same time). So if you have 10 brushes, wash all ten.
4. After you have put all the brushes in the jar, twirl them around in the water for a minute or two. Cleaning Makeup Brushes doesn't take long with Dawn it's awesome.
5. One at a time take them out of the water, and rinse them under running lukewarm water, until it rinses clean. (If you haven't washed them for a long time, they might not rinse clean, but after each wash it will get better). Or maybe you should invest in a new set like this awesome

6. After rinsing lay them on a folded towel to drip.
7. It is best to let them air dry with handles in the upright position, or lay them on a flat surface that lets the air circulate around them. But if you don't have all of that, the towel will be fine.

I usually wash my brushes at night, and the next morning they are ready for use. Looking Brand New.
