Steps for Applying Natural Makeup

Before Applying Your Makeup Application

  • Use your favorite products to cleanse, tone, and moisturize your face.
  • You will always get more natural results with every makeup application on a clean face.

Apply Your Under Eye Concealer

  • Tilt your head down to spot your under eye circles.
  • Using your finger gently apply the concealer directly under the dark circles.
  • Use a rolling motion start at the inner eye, and move outward to outer edge of your eye, and roll back again.
  • This rolling motion will spread and thin the concealer covering the dark circle.
  • If you use too much concealer gently dab the remaining until it blends. Ensure the concealer is blended well, without demarcation lines.
  • It is better to use your fingers in this delicate under eye area instead of using brushes, and other tools.
  • Using the left over concealer on your fingers, dab into the upper corners of your eyes.
  • Applying Mineral Powder

    • Apply the concealer first, then apply the mineral powder. If applied in the opposite direction you will probably get a caked appearance.
    • Dusting mineral powder over the concealer allows a longer lasting application, and sets the concealer in place.
    • Mineral powder is very light.
    • Dust the powder over your eyes and all over the entire face.

    Apply Mineral Foundation

    • Evenly coat your skin with the mineral foundation.
    • Swirl the application brush in a circular motion to blend for a natural look.
    • Start at the center of your face, and lightly apply to cheeks, chin, and upper facial area.
    • Make sure the foundation is evenly coated.
    • Lightly apply to neck.

    Eyebrows

    • Ensure your eyebrows have been properly manicured and or waxed.
    • Start the eyebrow at the inner bridge of the nose.
    • Use an eyebrow pencil that is two to three shades lighter than your natural hair color.
    • Do not draw on the eyebrow line, but dab the the pencil, in a light stroking motion to emulate real hairs, in areas that are sparse.
    • Create the eyebrow shape that you want
    • Complete the eyebrow just below the temple.

Curl Your Lashes for Your Natural Makeup Look

    • Using an eyelash curler like this -
    • Curl the lashes before applying your mascara.
    • Curling your lashes helps your eyes to appear larger, and your eyelashes to appear thicker.
    • Using the eyelash curler while the lashes are wet with mascara will probably damage your lashes, and pull them out.

    How to Apply Mascara

Mascara helps your eyelashes to look full, lush, and long while opening and defining your eyes. Use mascara with every natural make up look.

    • Start applying the mascara at the roots of the lash.
    • Gently wiggle the brush from side to side, while gliding upwards. This will separate each lash.
    • Complete the application by closing the lid, and brushing the top of the lash starting as close to the base as possible, removing lumps if necessary.

Try this clump free mascara which is also the worlds most popular, waterproof, does not clump, and stays on until you wash it off.

    Blush Contour and Eyeshadow

We are going to contour your face so that it appears to be more oval shaped.

This blush application is going to be very natural, and show mostly when your head is turned to the side.

    • Try to use an angled blush brush for this natural makeup look technique.
    • Take your blush (preferably a bronzer for a natural glow) and start at your ear, following underneath your cheakbone.
    • Take the same blush, and apply lightly to your temples in a circular motion.
    • And since, this a natural look, apply the same blush lightly to your upper eyelids.

    Applying Lipstick

Should we use red lipstick for our natural makeup look?

    • Lips usually appear more natural, with a muted pink tone lipstick, or lip gloss.
    • Gently apply the lipstick, and glide top and bottom lips together to blend.
    • If using a lipliner ensure the liner blends with the color without a separation line of definition.
Be careful when applying red lipstick to a natural palette it is overwhelming.

Eyeliner is Optional for the Natural MakeUp Look

    • For a more natural appearance, do not use eyeliner on the bottom lid.
    • Eyeliner on the top lid is optional, and for a more dramatic look is recommended.
    • Starting at the inner corner, create your line, with short strokes, to the outer corner of eyelid.

    Did You Know?

    • You can clean an old mascara brush, and use it for your eyebrows.
    • If you dab your foundation with a sponge, your complexion will look more natural.
    • Wear foundation that looks like your natural skin tone.
    • If you use bronzer when applying blush, your makeup will look more natural, and give your skin a rosy glow. MAC cosmetics has an abundance of bronzers that will last and go a long way in this natural makeup look.
    • If you line your bottom lid with eyeliner, you lose some of that natural make up look effect.
    • Skip the foundation for a more natural make up look.
    • Pink lip gloss will give you a touch of color, and look natural. When applying lipstick stick with the colors that blend easily with your skin tone. Vibrant, or florescent colors are not natural. Be careful when applying red lipstick to a natural palette it is overwhelming.
